Barry Frankel, OD, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from State University of New York at Albany and Doctorate in Optometry, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University. He was licensed, and began practicing in Florida, in 1999.
Dr Frankel is a board-certified optometric physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, pediatrics, and specialty contact lens fittings for patients with Keratoconus and other irregular corneal abnormalities. He performs comprehensive eye exams in English and Spanish, co-manages patients with pre- and post-operative laser vision correction and cataract surgery, and does surgical consulting.
He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association and Palm Beach County Optometric Association.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he now resides in Florida, working and enjoying family time, especially with his daughter Samantha and son Steven.
Dr. Cohen received his Bachelor of Arts and Science in Computer Systems from Florida Atlantic University and then his Doctorate in Optometry, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Cohen completed his Residency in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he had specialty training in Primary Care Optometry, Glaucoma, Retina and other areas. He then went on to work for 3 years with TLC Laser Eye Centers in Boca Raton. Dr. Cohen has been a part of the team at Eye and Ear since 2002.
Outside of the office Dr. Cohen enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and is a self-described foodie.
Dr. Reekers received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Rollins College in Winter Park,Florida. She attended Illinois College in Chicago and received her Bachelor of Science in Visual Science and her Doctorate of Optometry. She then returned home to Palm Beach County.
Dr. Reekers joined an ophthalmology practice. She then opened her private practice of optometry in the Jupiter-Tequesta area. Dr. Reekers started working with Eye and Ear in 2009. She enjoys providing comprehensive eye care with a special interest in contact lenes. She enjoys listening to patients and providing them with the visual correction which will best fit their lifestyle. Dr. Reekers previously served as a president of the Florida Optometric Association. She worked to advance the practice of optometry and the services and level of care provided to patients throughout the state. Outside of the office Dr.Reekers enjoys spending time with her family and golfing with her husband.
Dr Parker is a long term resident of Palm Beach County Florida graduating from Forest Hill High School. He began the practice of Optometry serving with the 7th Field Hospital in Japan caring for evacuees from Vietnam. On returning he began practice in Palm Springs in 1969.
The practice was taken over by Dr. Raymond Schwartz in 1976 allowing Dr. Parker to pursue a keen interest in reaching out to people in the greatest need. For the next 3 years he worked in Afghanistan as a teaching /clinical optometrist at the NOOR Eye Institute in Kabul. He was forced to leave when the Russians invaded Christmas Day 1979.
In 1982 Dr. Parker was asked to head a blindness prevention project in Sri Lanka where he established the School of Ophthalmic Technology. The program is credited with making a major contribution to the excellent eye care of the country. The school continues to train personnel.
In 1999 Dr. Parker was again called upon to develop the Low Vision Project in Jordan and the Middle East. During the next 8 years he contributed to the development of Optometry in Jordan and the region and established the School of Optometry in the department of Applied Medical Sciences at the Jordan University of Science and Technology serving as an Assistant Professor. He participated in multiple extended working and development visits to Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.
The years between the overseas work, were spent in the Palm Beach area largely working with Dr. Schwartz in his old practice. He continues to reach out to people in need by volunteering at the Community Health Center in West Palm Beach.
Dr. Aldrin is a Florida native who graduated from the University of Florida and then completed his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University, graduating with honors. He sees patients of all ages and enjoys giving quality care to improve patients lives through better vision. He is certified to prescribe MiSight myopia control contact lenses and completed an Externship at the Department of Veteran Affairs and is familiar with many ocular diseases. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, cooking, playing sports, and fishing.
Dr. Amber Lindahl is a board certified Optometric Physician, or Optometrist, practicing in Wellington, Florida. She is a rare native Floridian, being born and raised right here in Palm Beach County. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Memphis, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences and minored in Chemistry. While attending the University of Memphis, Dr. Lindahl was also a scholarship athlete for the Memphis Tiger’s Softball team. After completing her degree at the University of Memphis, she came back home to Nova Southeastern to complete her Doctorate of Optometry degree. She has been practicing in Palm Beach County since graduation and completion of her disease based rotation with the Palm Beach VA.
Dr. Lindahl has been providing expert vision care to patients within the Palm Beach County communities and considers each one as extended family. She carries a strong passion for her profession and has genuine concern for her patients and ensures that they get the best care possible.
Dr. Lindahl specializes in custom contact lens fittings and in the diagnosis and management of various conditions in adults and children. She is currently affiliated with the American Optometry Association (AOA), the Florida Optometric Association (FOA) and the Palm Beach County Optometric Society. Dr. Lindahl welcomes new patients and invites the opportunity to serve your families, earn your trust and deliver the best eye care and service available. Her ultimate goal is to exceed your every expectation.
Since early 2021, Dr. Lindahl has been working alongside Dr. Harrell and his patient base. She has learned first hand, his bedside manner and patient care from him and has become a foundation that Dr. Harrell’s former patients can depend upon since his retirement in mid-2022.
In her free time, Dr. Lindahl is an avid reader and love to power lift. She has also been drawing since she was very young and has recently begun doing digital artwork in her spare time. She can get spend hours while drawing some of her favorite scenes and characters.
