Dr. Amy Lee is a dedicated optometrist based in Gilbert, Arizona, who genuinely enjoys helping people see their best. Originally from Elgin, IL, she’s embraced the Phoenix East Valley as her home and takes pride in being an active part of the local community.   

Dr. Lee began her career in optometry in 1997, starting as a private practice optician and technician during her summer breaks from college, before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2004. Her enthusiasm for caring for vision goes well beyond standard glasses and contacts. She has studied and invested extensively in the latest diagnostic equipment to ensure the timely and proper detection of ocular issues and diseases that can cause vision issues in her patients. 

She also has a passion for utilizing modern methods to combat and stabilize the progression of myopia, especially in children. Having a high degree of myopia herself at an early age, she can empathize with those burdened with early-onset myopia issues. As a result, she has created an Ortho-K focus in her practice by becoming a certified specialist in Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) through Paragon Vision Sciences, and she actively participates in the Myopia Collective, focusing on managing and slowing myopia progression. Dr. Lee finds joy in helping patients stabilize their myopia as well as achieve clear vision without daytime glasses or contacts for the first time through CRT and Ortho-K.  

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lee is deeply involved in community service. She has provided eye care at skilled nursing facilities, volunteered for the Special Olympics, and supported eye care for children in need. 

In 2015, Dr. Lee and her husband founded Accurate Family Vision. They first met while working in the optometry field in 2007 and decided to open their own practice in 2015 to connect more deeply with their patients. Their combined expertise—Dr. Lee’s extensive optometry knowledge and her husband’s experience as an account executive with Oakley Inc.—create a unique blend of top-notch service and care. 

Outside of work, Dr. Lee loves hiking with her family and dogs and exploring new places through travel. Her commitment to her patients and family shines through in everything she does, and she is proud to serve the Gilbert and East Valley communities.

Since she was young, Dr. Jessica Burtner Islam has always dreamed of becoming a doctor to make a difference in people’s lives, influenced by her father, who is a neuroradiologist. Driven by her passion for eye care, she became an optometrist specializing in treating ocular diseases. Dr. Islam received her Doctorate of Optometry from MCPHS University, graduating with honors, and completed an Ocular Disease and Low Vision residency at Jesse Brown VA Hospital in 2021.

Dr. Islam is proud to be a member of the American Academy of Optometry Fellows and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Beyond her clinic work, she has a passion for culinary arts, traveling, learning Spanish, and spending time with her husband, newborn daughter, and three fur babies.
