R. Kevin Quinn, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University in 1994 and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University.
Dr. Quinn always wanted to be a healthcare provider and says he experiences immediate satisfaction after helping solve his patients’ vision problems. He has been practicing optometry since 1994 and enjoys providing vision solutions for all the unique vision needs of his patients. He particularly values the wonderful long-term relationships he has built with his patients and their families over the years.
Dr. Quinn loves spending time with his wife and their children when he is not treating patients. He also likes traveling, playing golf, and watching/supporting the University of Florida sports teams.
Shruti Desai, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2018 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, with a Minor in Mathematics, from the University of Florida. She specializes in ocular disease and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Desai has worn glasses since she was three years old. She recalls that her eye doctor was the only doctor she thoroughly enjoyed seeing each year, as her visits were always pleasant. Dr. Desai has been in practice since 2018 and enjoys solving problems. In addition to helping people see better, she also likes to help them understand how to optimize their vision and systemic well-being.
In her free time away from the office, Dr. Desai enjoys visits to museums, traveling, and exploring cities and historical places. She also makes time for reading, watching movies/shows/theater, and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles and the University of Florida Gators.
Lauren Chermak, O.D., completed her undergraduate studies at James Madison University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following her education, she embarked on her journey as an optometrist in 2022.
Dr. Chermak's personal experience with nearsightedness and her consistent visits to the optometrist from a young age sparked her interest in the field of optometry. She is deeply committed to using her expertise to positively influence the lives of others and finds great fulfillment in the opportunity to make a meaningful difference as an OD.
Kenneth Parker, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 2020. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida. He has special interests in ocular disease and binocular vision, having rotated through clinics that focused on ocular disease, traumatic brain injury, and vision therapy.
Dr. Parker was inspired to become an optometrist partially because he found ocular disease interesting and partly because he had family members who, through fear of medical visits, did not seek care for macular degeneration and cataracts. As an optometrist, he knew he could help alleviate that fear for others.
Dr. Parker says what he likes most about being an optometrist is educating patients on why their vision is the way it is and working with them to help improve their vision to be the best it can be. He also likes that optometry has a significant primary care focus and that retinal exams can help other medical specialists monitor a patient’s general health (e.g., diagnosing brain tumors, managing medications, and monitoring diabetes).
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Parker spends his free time hiking and enjoys baking and watching movies.
