Dr. Christine Castillo was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. She was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society in addition to other organizations.
She then graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry with honors in 2003. While in school, she was a teaching assistant for Neuroanatomy and Binocular Vision for 2 years and served an internship with a retinal specialist at the Cizik Eye Center in Memorial Hermann Hospital and at Plano Eye Associates. Prior to licensure, she spent the summer acquiring more experience at Cornea Associates of Texas in Dallas. She then spent a year working as an Associate Doctor at various commercial practices until she acquired a Managerial Doctor position in August 2005. She relinquished this position to open the Eye Trends Summerwood practice with her friend and colleague, Dr. Annie Hsu.
Dr. Castillo is a strong advocate of preventative care and good ocular health. She is open to answering all questions and ensuring that all of your concerns are addressed.
When she is not working, Dr. Castillo's time is gladly occupied by her two sons (15 and 11 years old) and her husband. Otherwise, she enjoys spending time with the rest of her family and playing the piano.
Dr. Annie Hsu is a native of Houston, Texas. She attended the University of Texas Austin and completed her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Business and Psychology. Dr. Hsu received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2004.
In the midst of completing her Doctorate degree, she examined naval and military personnel at the naval base in Corpus Christi. She also had an opportunity to practice rural optometry in a small town in IL. Upon graduation, she moved back to Houston where she began practicing optometry throughout the Houston area. She has experience with pre/post-op lasik management and pre/post-op cataract surgery management.
Dr. Hsu is a firm believer that prevention is the key to everything. She enjoys working with patients to keep their eyes healthy for years to come.
Dr. Hsu enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her 5 year old nephew and 6-month-old niece. In her spare time, she likes to keep up with the happenings in Hollywood and attempts to cook.
