Do children really need sunglasses?
Children tend to spend more time outdoors than most adults, making them more susceptible to UV and HEV radiation than adult eyes. Lenses in children's eyes are still developing and due to their large pupils more UV rays reach the back of their eyes. Too much exposure to UV rays can cause cumulative, irreversible damage to the retina. Having your child wear sunglasses at an early age can help prevent these eye issues in the future.
Want to get your child the best sunglasses but unsure of the level of UV protection they need? We can help recommend the best type of sunglasses for your child.
