Dr. Michael Berk was born and raised in central Ohio. He is a second generation optometrist. His father opened the Berk Eye Care Center in 1953. Dr. Michael Berk graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1983 with a Doctor of Optometry degree along with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science. He graduated with honors and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity. He is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. He took over the practice in 1990.

Dr. Michael Berk specializes in many areas including treating eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. He has helped various contact lens manufacturers in doing research on new products and has always been on the forefront of contact lens technology. He is an affiliate with TLC laser eye centers, a national company specializing in Lasik, and has worked with them doing patient work ups for Lasik.

Dr. Michael Berk enjoys his work and being able to help his patients with their eye health and visual needs. He is committed to keeping Berk Eye Care Center at the forefront of technology, striving for excellence, and delivering superior care to the patients of Berk Eye Care Center.

Dr. Michael Berk is the father to four children and two grandchildren. His oldest son, Joseph, is a supervisor in the department of public safety at OSU hospital, His daughter, Audre’, works at Berk Eye Care Center in insurance billing and scheduling. His son, Sam, is getting his PHD in biochemistry at the Oregon Health and Science University. And his youngest son, Max, is currently in optometry school at the Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX, and will be a third-generation optometrist. Dr. Berk loves to travel and exercise. He plays golf in the summertime and enjoys spending time outdoors with his two dogs.

Dr. John Gwin grew up in East Central Ohio and has resided in Central Ohio for several years. He joined Berk Eye Care Center in 2011 and has been a partner with the practice since 2017. He finds it a joy and privilege to provide eye care to those in our communities.

Dr. Gwin graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2002 with a Doctor of Optometry degree as well as a bachelor of science in visual science. He completed his optometric education with distinction and was granted membership into Beta Sigma Kappa national honor society. He is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Gwin enjoys providing eye care for patients of all ages and eye health concerns. He specializes in dry eye disease and would welcome those seeking more comfortable vision with the latest treatment available. He continues to seek the latest in optometric education to provide the highest quality of patient care. He has volunteered in the InfantSEE and Realeyes programs, which educates parents and children on the importance of a lifetime of vision and eye health care.

Outside of the office, Dr. Gwin enjoys spending time with his family. This includes his wife, Liz, children, Claire and Layne, and chocolate lab, Hank. His favorite hobbies include volleyball, cars, and cheering on the Buckeyes.

Dr. Stacie Errington graduated from The Ohio State College of Optometry in 1994. She enhanced her training with an ocular disease residency at The Eye Center of Toledo. She received her Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude in Chemistry and Biology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She was recognized for her academic achievements in Phi Delta Lambda and Beta Sigma Kappa honor societies. She is a member of the Central Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Errington joined Berk eye Care Center in 1995 and is now a partner in the practice. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She not only prescribes glasses and contacts, but she is trained in diagnosing, treating and managing many diseases for the eye. Diabetes, glaucoma, dry eye, macular degeneration, ocular foreign bodies and abrasions, keratoconus, and post-surgical care for cataracts and corneal laser procedures are all part of her daily patient care. She tells her patients that the “eye is the window to one’s overall health”. She looks forward to seeing her patients every year and always welcomes new patients.

When not working, Dr. Errington loves spending time with her husband, two children and dog. She is very active in her church and has served in youth ministry for 30+ years. Reading, music, golf, travel, and spending time with friends are a few of the things she enjoys doing. She feels very blessed to have a career doing something she loves everyday and helping others while serving her patients in Gahanna, Columbus and surrounding communities.

Dr. Neader is a 2004 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Neader is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, and The Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the AOA. He has received extensive training during his externships in Ocular Disease at the Dayton VA Hospital and with the Ohio State University Department of Ophthalmology. After graduating, he began practicing in corporate optometry, and was also employed with a refractive surgical center. Thus, Dr. Neader brings a unique skill set with tremendous clinical experience in the area of Refractive Surgery to the arena of private optometric practice. He was one of the primary optometrists on staff who was trained and qualified to evaluate the pre-op patient selection and manage post-op care for numerous refractive surgical cases, including LASIK & PRK. He has joined our practice as of February 2006 and will be practicing at our primary location in Columbus.
